IndiaEggRate

Privacy policy

Short, because the site does very little. It publishes egg prices; it does not need to know who you are.

No accounts, no ads, nothing sold

There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into. We run no advertising, and we do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone.

Analytics

We use PostHog to count how many people visit, which markets they look at, and whether anything is broken. We want to know that Barwala gets read more than Brahmapur — not who read it.

How it is configured:

PostHog processes this data on our behalf, on servers in the United States.

What is stored in your browser

Your theme preference (light or dark), kept in your browser’s local storage so the site does not flash the wrong colours on your next visit. It never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.

As we add conveniences like remembering your preferred unit or your pinned markets, those will be stored the same way — locally, on your device.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard request logs — IP address, browser type, the page requested, and a timestamp — for operational and security purposes. This is ordinary web-server behaviour and applies to every site you visit. We do not use those logs to identify individuals.

Third parties

Egg prices come from NECC via e2necc.com, but that is a request we make from our own servers — your browser never contacts them. No fonts or images are loaded from third-party domains. The only third party your browser interacts with is PostHog, and that goes through our own domain as described above.

Children

This is a commodity price reference and is not directed at children.

Opting out

Any tracker blocker, or your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting, will stop analytics entirely. Nothing on this site depends on it — every rate, chart and page works identically either way.

If this changes

If we later add advertising, this page will be updated before it goes live, and it will name what was added rather than pointing you at a generic policy. That is how this page came to describe PostHog: it was written when we ran nothing at all, and updated in the same change that switched analytics on.
